Our blanket weaving mill
In the 1980s, the small family business revived the passion for wool products and wool trading that was already rooted in the family. Using traditional weaving machines from the 1960s, which they restored to working order in the spirit of sustainability, they began to manufacture their own products, with traditional Portuguese patterns as well as modern influences that the son of the family brought.
On the way to the production facility we drive through streets lined with olive trees and small villages that no tourist gets lost in. It feels as if time has stood still here and at the "almoço", a carafe of house wine is served with the hearty dishes as a matter of course. We are already wondering whether we are in the right place when we stand in front of the old building in the middle of the village and a nice Portuguese woman and her son greet us.
The family proudly shows us the production rooms and explains step by step how our blankets are made. An impressive process in which wool and cotton are first transformed into yarn and then into fabric.
We use 100% recycled cotton and 100% wool from the Portuguese Alentejo. We feel the passion that goes into the work here and we are already choosing the first patterns and colors together that will bring color and comfort into your home.
